I have been gaming my entire life. My parents taught me to read using Pokémon cards, which led to a lifelong love of gaming, strategy and card games in particular.
I love thinking about systems and balancing in particular, considering how subtle changes can dramatically impact player behavior. I obsessively deconstruct every game I play to figure out what makes them tick, why some systems and strategies are fun and engaging, and why others fall flat.
In addition to design, I have always been a competitor, playing at the highest level in a variety of strategy and card games. My professional experience in gaming also includes analysis and strategy content creation for premier esports organizations.
I have a Bachelor's in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, with a dual major in economics. Prior to game design, I worked as a manufacturing engineer for a medical device company. I love learning about science, engineering, economics, and history as well.
